For
walking enthusiasts, rugged ramblers or wilderness wanderers, the Massif du
Chablais and the nearby Haut-Giffre have over 1000km of marked footpaths to
discover. There are day treks, walks and trails suitable for everyone! With
spectacular panoramic views of the Mont Blanc, The dents du Midi, the aravis
range, abundant colourful alpine flora and spectacular fauna, alpine lakes,
rushing streams and white water cascades. what better place to come and enjoy
the outdoors.
Whatever
type of walks you are after, you will find them here! There are walks suitable
for almost everyone. Some walks wind through woodland and emerald pastures,
along side alpine streams and mountain lakes. There are trails where you can
discover the local flora (stemless trumpet gentian, genepi, myrtille (blueberry)
bushes, martagon Lilies) and fauna(ibex, chamois, moufflon, marmot, black
grouse, golden eagles, Bearded vultures). There are also physically demanding
day hikes lasting several hours and covering altitudes of over 700m. Some
walks can take 2 days and we can arrange for you to spend the night in unique
atmosphere of an overnight refuge with authentic local french food!!! Whatever
type of walking you like, we are happy to adapt our holidays to you.

prices start at £125 per person per week B&B and include:-

accommodation in our luxury chlalet in Morzine.
- We can
recommend ideal walks, point out where you will find the best viewpoints,
the local wildlife and flowers.
- Supply
you with local walking maps of the area, we have books on history
etc
For
an additional cost we can
- Arrange
a mountain guide for the day/week , they can point out all the mountain
flora and fauna, the mountain ranges
- Pick you
up and take you back to Geneva airport

Picnic - we will meet you on the mountain at a specific location and
we will have a picnic feast laid out ready for you to eat when you
arrive!!

The
col de cou (5 hrs + altitude )
From Morzine, follow the dranse river, through the woods, to the cascade de
Nyon, the footpath contiues up the river and suddenly the valley opens up
into pasture land, Enjoy refreshments and relax in a secluded alpine chalet.
Then set off for your big climb!! Past the lac mind'or and then up to the
col de cou. Try and spot the very agile chamois jumping from rock to rock
on the steep rocky peaks. The col sits on the french swiss border, here there
aree magnificent panoramic views of the french and swiss alps..

Morzine -Discover the Flora and Fauna.
The
cablecar and chairlift will take you quicky high above Morzine. An easy walk
along the plateau to Avoriaz, where you will find lots of myrtille berries
and if lucky spot Black Grouse, marmots and ibex. The footpath or another
chairlift will then take you down to the little alpine hamlet of Les Linderets,
( The Goat Village- during the summer the goats roam free here, and their
milk is used to produce the local cheese) Here you can soak up the local atmosphere
and have some lunch after which you can make your way down the valley, past
the cascade de ardent, to lac Montriond, where the very brave, can take a
dip in its alpine waters!!
